Mom And Daughter Eating Popcorn

Seriously, January 19th is a National Popcorn Day. Who knew about that?

So that is my job to let you know and make sure you don’t miss this fun day. You’re welcome!

In my house, we absolutely LOVE popcorn, and it is one of those things you can’t stop eating until the bowl is empty. And that is why we don’t make a habit of frequently eating it around here.

I feel it should be mandatory to enjoy a huge bag of popcorn while watching a movie. The two go together like butter and bread. Let’s make a rule for that. No popcorn, sorry, no movie! Lol

Let's Celebrate It!

How can you celebrate this day? If you are into crafts, there are many little projects to work on with your kids.

With the material you already have at home, get some cotton balls and let your kids draw a popcorn container in a white paper and colour it red inside. Glue the cotton balls where the popcorn would go. And voila!

Check Pinterest. You will find tons of ideas that are also more elaborated.

Did I Hear Popcorn Bar?

You can host a popcorn bar. It’s an inexpensive idea for get-togethers, children’s parties and a movie night.

The setup is simple and doesn’t take much time, and it will definitely be a hit among the kids and adults. Who doesn’t like popcorn?

Get some individual popcorn containers you can easily find at the Dollar store. Then you have to decide if you want to buy a few popcorn varieties or make your own plus some snacks.

If you decide to make your own, the first step would be to pop the corn and put it on a bowl. Next, you need to choose the toppings. Get creative here! Make it fun and delicious. Offer some sweet and sour toppings, a little of both worlds that will surely please the crowd.

And that is it! You are done! Can’t get any easier than this 🙂

Label the toppings with some cute free printables you can find online If you want to get fancy and impress your guests.

Low Key Popcorn Lover

But, if you are anything like me, we will probably pick a Disney movie on Disney+, Aladdin is a great contender at the moment, along with a large bowl of popcorn and my favourite people snuggling under the blankets from the comfort of my living room. Those “people” are my daughter Julia and the dogs, Molly and Chase.

Decisions, decisions, decisions. What flavour? Buttered, salted, cheddar, caramelized, salt & vinegar, parmesan herbs & spices, buffalo ranch, dill pickle, white cheddar. There are so many to choose from. We will probably stick with cheddar as it’s my daughter’s choice.

Since my mom gifted me with a popcorn machine, it became a breeze to make it. It’s done without oil, pops pretty quickly and super easy to use. No kernels are left unpopped. It’s awesome! In the popcorn world, this is a game-changer!

Let me know what your plans are for this day. And if you are enjoying some popcorn, what flavour?

XOXO

Monica
